Official sources only
A claim appears here only if it came from Friends of Big Bear Valley, the Ojai Raptor Center, an involved agency, or reporting that directly quotes them. Every claim links to where it was said.
Uncertainty is stated, not filled
Where nothing official exists, this page says "unknown" rather than guessing. The unknowns list on the home page is a feature, not a gap.
Corrections beat pride
If we get something wrong, or an official source supersedes us, we fix it fast and log the change. When this page and an official source disagree, trust the official source.
